The Best Of: John and Lindsey E-Session

Sunday, October 31, 2010

Here's some of my favorites from John & Lindsey's engagement session. The weather was GORGEOUS (maybe a bit hot for fall, but I'm not complaining too much), and it just helped to complement this equally gorgeous couple. They were super-cute and sweet the entire time. It's easy to tell that they really care about and love each other. :0) I can't wait until your wedding next spring, you two!

Anna and David

Thursday, September 2, 2010

I'm working on a new project for my Visual Communications class, and I needed a big, giant, gorgeous field with tall grasses. So, I employed my friends to help me find one, and our cameras ended up tagging along with us. :0)

Every photographer can learn something new and pick up on new things. Since Anna has been a photographer much longer than I have, I was hoping she could teach me a few new tricks. And she did, and so these photos have a little bit of a different feel to them than my "normal" photos.

So here are some of my favorite test shots from this field. Hope you enjoy them! The actual photos from the project will be posted some time next week.

Personally speaking...

Saturday, August 7, 2010

So now is time for a little about myself.

Quite a few of you reading this blog probably know me personally. But if you don't (or maybe even perhaps if you DO), then you wouldn't necessarily know that I have been training for my first 5k all summer long. I'd like to say that I diligently trained for it, but, well, that would be a lie.

My first official 5k was supposed to be the Race Away from Domestic Violence 5k in Indy on Aug. 14. However, I had found out about the Circle the City for the Symphony 5k a few weeks ago from a friend of mine who is an intern with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

Music is very near and dear to me. I'm in a music fraternity, wanted to be a music educator for most of my high school career, and am/was (long story there) a music minor. I decided that I just couldn't pass up this opportunity to help out a great organization.

My fiancé and I had wanted to run a 5k together for quite some time, but things kept getting in the way. So I approached him with this one, and within just a few minutes, we were registering and booking a hotel for a mini-vacay and our first 5k.

I have decided that, since this is a huge step for me personally, I'm going to create an actual picture album instead of just having the photos reside on my computer. It will be an 8x8 album that will contain pictures from both the Circle the City 5k and the Race Away from Domestic Violence 5k happening next weekend. Here are the first few layouts! I'm very excited about this project. Check back in about a week for the final layouts!

UCA Cheer Camp 2k10

Friday, July 30, 2010 | |

So, most of my summer has been filled with one of three things:
1.) Work (40 hours a week)
2.) Internship
3.) Shooting weddings
But occasionally I get to break away from it all and do something different.
So, one might wonder, what does a photographer do when she's not taking wedding photos? Well, she's taking MORE photos... just at a different place.
For those of you that don't know me well, my younger sister is a cheerleader (I say "younger" instead of "little" because she's taller than me). To be honest, when she first made it, I HATED it. I was on the dance team in high school, and generally, the dance team hates the cheerleaders. But, Seester is really good, and it's fun to watch her do something that she enjoys a lot. These pictures were taken at the end of the UCA Cheer Camp at Purdue University. They won Top Banana and took home Camp Champs in several categories (I don't remember them all). So, congrats WHS. Hope you have a great year. :0)

The Best Of: Adam and Renee

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

I have been in love with this couple since I did their engagement photos a few months ago. I've known Renee for a few years now through Sigma Alpha Iota, but the e-session was the first time I had met Adam. They are fun and spunky and not afraid to laugh. Their day at the Rose Garden at Minnetrista was HOT, HOT, HOT! But they stuck it out, and I think they were rewarded (especially with those steamy photos at the end!). Good luck with everything, you two. I know you'll have a happy life together.
